Faker Assholes (Read This Please)

Journal Entry: Wed Nov 9, 2005, 9:20 PM
I'm really distressed by the fact that no one looks at the deviations I submit.

I'm contemplating just taking down the whole bit and keeping it all to myself. I am no professional and I am working with half-ass equipment, but I am being watched by about 30 people and I noticed that a lot of my deviations have been viewed less than 10 times ... even less than 5 times!

If I'm on your watch list and you don't give a shit about what I'm putting up here, take me off your list. I hate you half-assers who fake like you're going to give 2 shits about what I put up on here.

If you don't care, take me off. It infuriates me that I spend a lot of time trying to do photos as good as I possibly can considering what I have to work with and no one gives a damn.

Arrogant bastards ... a lot of you people on here that suck up the publicity and the money.

Take me off your lists ... assholes.

make art for art, not for the people watching, the money or the publicity. there are always people watching. so dont degress. Make art for you and share it with the world because you can. I have litteraly thousands of photos that I will never post here, not because they are good or bad, but because they are for me, and those are my "real" art.

I know what you mean - quite often i put alot of effort into making a picture right
and sometimes i only get one view.
it is quite frustrating.
but hang in there your pics are great :)

First things first:

I started watching you because of your poetry, not your photography. Personally, I like your literary art a lot more than your photography. But maybe that's all in how I'm wired.

Secondly:

It's hard to ask people to look at everything you post when you tack up 20 pictures at a time, and all of the same subject no less. I dabble in photography myself, I understand that a slight angle change makes a big difference in a picture, and lighting changes add extra depths, the Rule of Thirds is a plus here but you want to try it without...

Believe me, I get it. But in the long run, if you're shooting self-portraits or cats, shoot serveral, doctor them, edit them, choose your favorite or the one you think has the most artistic merit, and put it in your gallery. Uploading all 12 floods messageboxes and overwhelms watchers.

Thidly:

Because you do post so many at a time, I personally just use your gallery view to see them all. Clicking through 15 takes forever. If I use your gallery view, I can see thumbs and enlarge the ones that I'm attracted to. I know several other people that use the same method. It deprives you of pageviews, but hits aren't an accurate way to judge how well you're doing.

But this is a communciations site, and I put things here for feedback pruposes. I get nothing.

I'll just take it down if nothing comes of it.

It's because I wish to get feedback.

I take the time to look at every single piece of artwork put up by the 70-some odd people I watch. I don't know, I guess I'm just different. I've signed on and had over 200 deviations to go through, but I look at every last one.

I guess I'll write more ... haha ... haven't done any writing in a little while. Not like it would matter ... I don't get feedback on any of that stuff, either.

Look, I'm a poet.

This means I will automatically have less pageviews than anyone who can submit pictures.
People cannot be arsed to read poetry, so they'll just look at pictures.
I get about an average of 3 commments on each piece I do ever.
Those are from the same 3 people.

While on your pictures, ever since I watched you, I've commented on every last one you've done since.
If you're looking for publicity and money, I think you're on the wrong site.
However if you want honest comments and appreciation, there's no better site.
I will continue to watch you and view your work.

However if you call me a faker asshole or an arrogant bastard,
I will no longer frequent your pages, no matter how excellent they are.

Not getting a lot of views on all ur photos isnt a bad thing. I know how frustrating it is to work on something so hard and get like 1 comment and like 2 views, but i keep making it, BUT submiting like 15 pics at a time is a bit much. U know during the summer (when i was in my house... OH how i miss my house) i would look at every last one and comment on them... but nowadays the damned college has a shitty internet situation... sooo i cant get to all ur pictures. Dont worry about it soo much ^____^
